About Me

My photo
I'm Kassandra an Oregon girl at heart. Attorney at Law. My parents are both U.S. army veterans and continue to serve in the military in other capacities. I have four brothers (two older, two younger) and three sisters (all younger). I love each of them for all of their individualities and their commitments to the examples set by our parents. Aside from my family, I have several friends who mean a great deal to me. Notable are my best friend from high school and my best friend from college, I'm strong in analytical thinking. I am able to process things from several viewpoints simultaneously. I'm open and honest. and ... i'm in albuquerque!

okay now, i'm updating y'all ... on my phone so perhaps this will be short. i made it safely to my grandparents in new mexico. everything went routinely and my grandfather was there to pick me up at the airport, along with my cousin, Aubrey, whom we have determined i've never met in person. she's promised to be my tour guide here.

i have already taken her up on it!

i'll tell you more about Aubrey later!

as I wrote previously, i am leaving the sightseeing plans to my family, but one such event has already become clear ... in a couple of short days, my own little butt will be sitting in four -- count 'em ... four states! we're going to the four corners, probably saturday or maybe sunday!

i know i said things went routinely, but there was a minor incident at my one hour and five minute layover in phoenix.

i wandered into a giftshop and browsed through t-shirts, finding a section of shirts featuring the phoenix suns, and specifically Amar'e Stoudimire (who has since bolted phoenix for new york). being a good trail blazers fan, i rolled my eyes. this kid working there asked if i had a problem with the suns.

i said 'no, i'm looking forward to knocking them out of the playoffs this year (i didn't even tell him who my team is!)!'

i walked out of the giftshop feeling triumphant.

  1. That story about the gift shop is priceless! lol. Although you should have told him you're a Blazers fan. :) Four corners sounds amazing. That would be one sightseeing thing i'd have to do if i was there. glad to hear you made it safely.

  2. i didn't want to get into some huge debate over the blazers-suns thing, besides, i didn't think the airport was a good place to start a ruckas! i'm not sure about what the four corners looks like, but Aubrey says it's 'really neat.' i'm posting this at 9:07, but it seems like 8:07 to me. i'm an hour in the future!

  3. that was good thinking on your part lol. making a scene in an airport these days will get ya arrested. four corners does sound pretty neat. and i know the feeling of being in the future. haha. since i've live in missouri, its still weird when i call my family and friends back in portland and i realize they are two hours behind me.

  4. well, i imagine they get that kind of thing a lot. anyway we're going tomorrow to four corners. i've been meeting with aunts, uncles and cousins for the most part today. it's been a lot of fun, and i even had a chance to talk to my great, grandmother for a while today!

  6. yep, we're on the road, going to have lunch, then cross some state lines. G'Ma Anamarie is my oldest living relative. she's 93, but shows no signs of slowing down. interestingly enough, she is mexican and the person responsible for me being one-eighth mexican!

  10. nothing earth shattering. basically, i wanted to know what her life was like when she was young and how she felt about immigration now. i was just looking for a different perspective.
